RIMS Western Regional Conference Past Attendee Testimonials

I have been attending the Western Regional conference for over 10 years because it provides a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of Risk Management, network with other risk professionals and enjoy the benefits of a powerful yet smaller conference venue. This year's conference September 2nd-5th should be no exception with the Golden Gate Chapter hosting the event at the Grand Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. The educational sessions should provide something for everyone, as usual, and spending time with colleagues from across the western US (and at times beyond) is always an enjoyable mix of business and relaxation.

As a risk manager with many years experience, I have attended many risk management educational conferences and I can say that no conference compares with the RIMS Western Regional Conference for the opportunity to learn from other risk managers through discussion of common successes and challenges. This conference provides a unique opportunity for a small group of risk managers to share their experiences in a way that I have not seen in any other venue. Many risk managers that attended the Vancouver RIMS Western Regional Conference in 2007 expressed the same positive thoughts in the session evaluations. I started in risk management in 1989 and have been to every RIMS Western Regional Conference since 1995. To this day I don't know why it took me so long to start attending because it's a truly unique event and a great opportunity to meet other risk managers on a more informal basis than at the Society's annual conference. In addition to the huge draw of this year's great line-up of guest speakers and educational session presenters, what's not to like about San Francisco as the meeting's location? Frequent flights to and from the two nearby airports, public transportation to get you all over the city (read that as no need to rent a car), the bargain basement hotel rate of $179 (plus those pesky taxes) and world-famous restaurants all together give you more than enough reasons to register NOW!
